More Thoughts For the Day

Just thought I would share some thoughts that were passed on to me. Take one or two of them and apply to your life today. You will be glad you did! Enjoy =)

Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

When in doubt, just take the next small step.

Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

Pay off your credit cards every month.

You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

It's OK to let your children see you cry.

Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

Over prepare, then go with the flow.

Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

Frame every so-called disaster with these words ''In five years, will this matter?"

Always choose life.

Forgive everyone for everything.

What other people think of you is none of your business.

Time heals almost everything. Give it time. Time.

However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

Believe in miracles.

God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

Your children only get one childhood.

All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

The best is yet to come.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Inspirational Reminders

Some of these quotes have been posted on my blog before but I came across this list and felt it was an important to post these. We all need a little daily reminder about these things in life.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry. ~ I have learned this very quote is so true! The person who is right for you will not make you cry. Some tears may be shed during hard times, but if someone hurts you to the point of making you cry over reasons beyond your control, that is not the right person for you!

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. ~ There are all types of love in this world. We all love people differently. There is our family that we love, there are our friends that we love, there are our animals that we love, and there is our significant other that we love. Each person that we love in this world means something different to us. We love our children with all of our hearts, but it's not the same kind of love we have for our best friend. So someone can truly love you with all they have, but it does not necessarily mean they will love you the way you wish you could make them love you. You can never make someone one love you; it has to be completely voluntary to be true love.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart. ~ Most of us are fortunate to have one or more true friends that fall into this category. We all need a best friend that we can confide in. We all need at least one friend that knows us better than we know ourselves, and will be there for us no matter what. And if we are fortunate enough to have at least one friend like this, we have been given a huge blessing from the Lord. If we have more than one friend we can confide in and will be there for us no matter what, we have been abundantly blessed and should appreciate and be grateful for those friends in our life.

The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them. ~Have you ever been in this situation? It's not one we want to find ourselves in. Sometimes we don't always feel the same about people who have feelings for us and vice versa. And if the balance of feelings isn't equal between the persons, it usually always eventually leads to hurt or hard feelings towards one another. It is hard to want something or someone so bad and knowing we cannot have it. But as I always say, if something is meant to be, it will always work out in the end.

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile. ~ When we are down, we tend to frown. Though often times when we are down, we learn more about ourselves then when life is happy and rolling along in our favor. Just know that if you are down about something, it will not last forever. There will always be ups and downs in life; otherwise life would be boring! We would not appreciate the good times in life if we weren't given bad times to go along with those. I try to keep a smile no matter what life throws at me. You truly never know who is watching you or your smile so always stay positive and smile no matter what life throws at you!

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world. ~ We are all only one person in the world. That is all we can ever be, ONE person. You are one person, I am one person; and we must remember, one person can only do so much. And most of us have someone that we mean the world to. My daughters mean the world to me, and I would be lost without them. My kids have also told me I mean the world to them and they would be lost without Mommy. Especially my 4 year old who is permanently attached to my hip! I can barely go to the bathroom without her tagging along, and even then she will stand at the door and beat on the door "Mama! Mama!" as if she is never going to see me again. I feel so loved and needed in this world!

Don't waste your time on someone, who isn't willing to waste their time on you. ~ This statement is so true and just plain common sense if you ask me. If someone isn't willing to put forth the effort and give you some of their precious time, then they aren't worth giving your precious time to. So many relationships these days are not balanced and one person is putting forth all the effort and the other is not. That cannot work if both parties aren't willing to create the needed balance a relationship takes.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful. ~ AMEN! How many times have we met someone or somebody that has come into our life made such a huge impact, and then was gone one day? Most everyone has at least one person in their life that has came and went. We do not always understand why things happen the way they do, but God brings all people into our life for a reason. Again, we may not always know the reason. But sometimes it can be the fact that that person had such an impact on our life, that we changed how were living or our thoughts about a certain situation. And then another person comes along and we can then be grateful for him or her. Life takes enduring pain to get to where we need to be. People enter and exit our lives, but if that person is truly meant to stay in our life, the Lord will show us that in time. I believe this wholeheartedly!

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened. ~ Another very true statement! If something comes to an end, it was not meant to be. Take what you learned from whatever it was that ended and apply it to your life. And you should always smile about something that happened because at one time, it was exactly what you wanted. We all have moments we have exactly what we want. And then sometimes those moments fade in time and that thing is gone one day. Be grateful for the memories of the good times, but do not hang on to those. Move forward and do not look back. Leave the past in the past and walk on!

There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around... ~ I don't think I've heard this quote before but again, how very true it is. It seems like when we get hurt or burned by someone, we lose trust in everyone. We must remember this - what one person did to us does not mean that another will do the same. Do not carry the burden of past mistakes or judgements to the future. Let those go along with the person if that person is no longer in your life. You cannot move on in the future if you hold onto grudges by others who have wronged you. So keep your head up, give the next person a fair chance, but do be careful in putting too much trust in someone until you really know them. Remember it only takes a moment to destroy trust, and sometimes it takes a lifetime to build up trust.

Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you. ~ If you are not happy and content with yourself, you cannot live life to its fullest potential. A friend recently told me she was finally at peace with herself for the first time in a long time. I realized that I want that in my life and at times I have been there, but I need to get back there. We all want peace and harmony in our life, but we must be at peace with our self before that can happen. And it's not fair to try and get to know someone else if we don't even know who we are as a person. Because until we are happy and content with ourselves, we cannot truly be the person we should for another person to see. So if you are lost and wondering in this world, my advice is to pray for guidance and for God to show you direction. And then listen to what He says, and apply it to your life!

Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to. ~ Good things come to those who wait. I am a firm believer in that! If you try to rush something, or make something happen in its own time, it won't work out in the long run. You must trust in the Lord and He will show you when things are supposed to happen and the way they are supposed to happen. As hard as it is, we must place our trust in Him and be patient.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON. ~ If you have ever read my blog, this is practically in every post! Everything happens for a reason and there is a reason that everything happens. If we believe this statement, we will be more happy and at peace with life. We do not always understand why things happen, but God knows what He is doing. Sometimes it takes something or someone to show us things about life. God sends messages through our family, friends, strangers, songs, etc. all the time! We just have to be open minded and LISTEN and then we will receive the message from above. We all have situations that we question in life, but if we dwell on those questions all the time, we are losing precious time by worrying. We all worry about things, but if we just trust in Him, there would be no worries. I am sure we all have a list of questions we could ask God if we had the opportunity. I know I do! But I can't stay stuck on those what-ifs of life. I have to move forward and do what I think the Good Lord wants me to do. And even then, sometimes I do not know what He wants me to do. So sit back, be patient, and when the time is right you WILL know what direction to go in this life on earth!

We All Need Some Inspiration Each Day

I thought I would share some more inspirational quotes I received in an e-mail this morning.

You may not realize this, but the following is 100% true. Think about some part of it daily.

There are at least 2 people in this world who you would die for. And at least 15 people in this world who love you in some way. ~ And if you think about it, there are probably many more people who you give your life for, and that love you in return. And I love 'em every one!

The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. ~ Now that is so and completely true. If someone is envious of you, or wants what you have, it is only natural for that person to develop feelings of hatred towards you. I personally never use the word "hate." I substitute "strongly dislike" because "hate" is a strong word in my opinion. So if someone "hates" you, the best thing you can do is be nice to that person and pray they find what they are looking for. You never know, maybe one day you could help that person in some way that once "hated" you.

A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone even if they do not like you. ~ I love the phrase "smile, it looks pretty on you." Try it sometime. I know I have been smiling to the fullest extent lately and what a difference it has made in my world. Whether it's because of someone or a reference to an inside joke (cute fella), smiling releases negative energy and brightens the day, even if just a little.

Every night, someone thinks about you. You mean the world to someone. ~ True. Each night, at least one person thinks about you, or more if you are lucky. I know I mean the world to someone and others mean the world to me.

You are special and unique. Someone you don't even know - loves you. ~ Often times we come into contact with new people that will have a dramatic impact on our life. God has a plan and a reason for each and every person we meet. Lord knows I am discovering that lately!

When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it. ~ AMEN! Sometimes our biggest mistakes lead us to blessings we would have never even discovered if we hadn't make the mistakes we have in the past. I am living proof of that because I am right where I need to be right now.

When you think the world has turned it's back on you... take another look. ~ When you feel all the world is against you, it's normally quite the opposite. It is you that has turned your back on the world.

Always remember the compliments that you received. Forget about the rude remarks. ~ I deal with negative remarks all the time and the best thing I can do is blow them off. Normally people say things in the heat of the moment, and then later regret it. Thank God I have enough compliments that come my way to outweigh the negative words my ears hear.

Always remember... when life hands you a lemon ~ ask for sugar. ~ I love this one! When life throws a curve ball or things at us we don't want to handle, pray for some sweetness from God above. Eventually all lemons turn into blessings at some point in time. It may not be right away, but things happen when the time is right.

Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them but you know they are there. ~ Very true. I also have friends I have never even met that I have relied on to get me through certain scenarios. Thank you =-)

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I am there - than a whole truckload when I am gone. ~ Say what you need to say, and do what you need to do while you have the chance. Don't wait until it's too late if there is something you have been holding back on saying to someone or a chore you need to do. It's better to living knowing you took care of your to do list, then living with regret that you never accomplished something you should have.

Happiness keeps you sweet.
Trials keep you strong.
Sorrow keeps you human.
Life keeps you humble.
~ Again, true. I know that when I am happy in life, I am in a fabulous mood and not alot can bring me down. During my trials and hard times in life, I found myself closer to God and came out stronger because of what I went through. We all must have a little bit of sorrow and sadness to balance out the good times in life so that we can appreciate our blessings and not take them for granted.

Success keeps you glowing, but only friends keep you going. ~ It's wonderful to be successful at something, and yes, when things are good, I do have that glow about life. But in the good and bad times, my friends have always held me up through them all. And I am so grateful to have the friends I do!

Have a wonderful Friday and remember to apply one (or more) of these ideas to your life each day!

More Inspirational Sayings

I love to read inspirational phrases, quotes or sayings. I received an e-mail with many wonderful thoughts so I thought I would post that list. Here goes...

Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

Follow the 3 R's:
Respect for self
Respect for others and
Responsibility for all your actions.

Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.

Don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship.

When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

Spend some time alone every day.

Open your arms to change, but don't give up your values.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.

A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.

In disagreement with loved ones, deal with only the current situation. Don't bring up the past.

Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.

Be gentle with the earth.

Once a year, go some place you've never been before.

Remember the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.

Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

Looking through this list, I think each phrase offers some good advice. Many of these refer to love, family, friends, and relationship with people whom you have in your life. It is very important to realize it's these people in our life that are what is truly most important. Things come and go, people come and go, friends come and go, loves comes and goes, jobs come and go, but we all must remember to indulge ourselves in the current moment and never take life for granted. Life is too short and we must remember that each and every day. So live in the moment, take an extra moment to do something you enjoy, take an extra moment to play with your children, and don't ever forget to thank God everyday for another day here on earth.
